£50 reservation deposit — full colony price £350. The remaining £300 is payable separately before dispatch or collection. This payment reserves one five-frame Langstroth nucleus colony and is not payment in full.

Expected late April to early May 2027, subject to weather and colony development. We will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery or collection date.

Exactly what's included

  • One established nucleus colony on five Langstroth frames
  • One laying queen, with worker bees and developing brood

  • One Paynes polystyrene nucleus box, yours to keep
  • One ventilated travel screen for safe transportation

Your bees will arrive established on the frames inside the nuc box, ready to settle into their new location. Please check that you are ordering the correct frame format for your hive.

Delivery and collection

UK mainland delivery is included in the £350 price, or you can collect from Overton-on-Dee for the same price. Northern Ireland and offshore islands are excluded. We will confirm the delivery address or collection appointment before your colony is ready. Please do not travel to collect until we have confirmed your appointment. Dates are subject to suitable weather and transport conditions.

Checking your colony on arrival

We take great care to ensure every nucleus colony leaves us healthy and with a laying queen. Please check your colony promptly on arrival or collection. If your queen is found dead on arrival, please report this on the same day you receive the colony, with a clear photograph of the queen and your order number. Email deevalleyhoneyco@gmail.com. Where the evidence confirms a queen was dead on arrival, we will provide a replacement queen free of charge, arranging timing with you according to availability. If you have other concerns about your colony, contact us promptly with photographs so we can help. This reporting process does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

After you reserve

Keep your order confirmation. We will contact you to arrange the outstanding £300 balance separately before dispatch or collection; your card will not be charged automatically. For questions before ordering, email deevalleyhoneyco@gmail.com.
